Summary:
The primary responsibility for this position is the maintenance, repair, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement of the process systems, including site auxiliary equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.
The candidate will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks.
They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
The facility operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Performs equipment maintenance tasks following the production schedule as provided by the smoke plant supervisor.
Maintains the proper equipment spare parts and supply inventories required to meet production schedules.
Identifies and maintains a critical spare part inventory.
Maintains an adequate tool inventory to perform the required maintenance activities in a timely, effective manner.
Aptitude in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment is essential.
Performs welding, electrical, plumbing and cutting functions involved in repairing, replacing, and installing equipment plant wide.
Install conduit and wiring as needed for motors, lighting, and control devices such as valves, limit switches, etc.
Rebuilds, repairs, and installs pumps, motors, gear boxes, etc.
Also fabricates parts, braces, etc.
as required to keep the plant equipment in running order.
Requests, when needed, assistance from manufacturing service reps.
Request when needed assistance from outside contractors for specialized repairs or installs, such as electrical, heavy equipment, plumbing etc.
Maintains an up to date database (SAP) of all equipment, pm schedules, repairs, work orders, history, and spare parts required to operate equipment at the site.
Maintains a current library of service manuals, schematics, and equipment diagrams.
Maintains current documentation on each piece of plant equipment, i.
e.
, maintenance logs and data, operating status, preventative maintenance schedules, and repair history.
Recommends the upgrade and/or replacement of equipment.
Keeps a current, daily log of all maintenance tasks performed.
Maintains a neat, clean, safe, and organized maintenance shop.
Works closely with other employees in a team-based environment.
Complies with all corporate safety and environmental regulations and procedures.
Complies with all HACCP Food Safety procedures, GMP’S, and guidelines.
Ensures maintenance activities described in the special conditions of the air permit are completed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
